Sanford Children’s X Fargo Force Program Inspires Reading

The Sanford Children's X Fargo Force Reading Program inspires kids to read, and classrooms have the opportunity to sign up for Fargo Force Players to visit their classes and read to their students!

The Fargo Force Reading Program is free to kindergarten to 6th grade classrooms within a 30-mile radius of Fargo-Moorhead. The program is 12 weeks long, beginning in November and ending in February.

KVLY 11 • Valley News Live featured the program as part of its November 28th, 2023 evening news. You may watch this news feature in the YouTube video displayed above.

The teacher of each class is responsible for tracking the class’s progress toward reaching their group reading goal. An individual booklet is given to each student to track their own success. The booklets are delivered to the teachers the week before the start of the program.

Throughout the course of the program, participating classrooms have the opportunity to sign up for Fargo Force players to visit their classes and read to their students!

By the end of the program, each child should have completed 1200 minutes of reading! Any reading is counted, including parents/guardians reading to students and teachers reading to students/reading aloud during class periods.  Students are awarded a prize for their efforts and as an incentive to complete the full program!
